Someone Is Porting All Nine Classes to TF2 VR and I Am Already Warming Up My Shoulders

I wishlisted Team Fortress 2 again in 2026 and I am not even mad about it.

SaladWorks Interactive stuck Team Fortress 2: VR Mod on Steam with a trailer. Fan project. Not Valve. You need TF2, which is free, so the only real cost is a headset and whatever you knock off a shelf when a rocket lands at your feet. Release date just says coming soon. I hit wishlist anyway.

The idea is the game you already know, just with your actual arms in it. All nine classes. Payload. Control points. Mann vs Machine. Independent arms, motion melee, manual reloads. Pump the scattergun. Feed shells. Walk up to a sentry and hit it with the wrench like a maniac. That last part is the whole pitch for me. I have clicked that mouse button for years. I want to swing it myself!

This thing got moving after Valve dumped the TF2 source. Salad has been posting OpenXR clips for a while. Now there is a store page, a site at tf2vr.net, and they list Windows plus Linux through Proton. Source SDK 2013. They keep saying conversion, not a reboot, which is the only sentence I care about. I do not want a new TF2. I want 2Fort with a shotgun I have to rack.

There is already a Contractors TFVR mod if you want to mess around tonight. Different beast. This one is trying to be a real Source port on SteamVR. No reviews. Nothing to review. Trailer, page, wishlist. That is the whole pile.

TF2 is that game i’ll never uninstall from my PC. I think it’s that game for a lot of people, so the fact it is coming to VR soon is a dream come true for a lot of us.
