Developer PolarityOne and publisher VRAL Games announced that the Open Beta for their sci-fi co-op shooter Exoshock launches on September 17. This represents the largest and final free playtest before the title moves into its planned Early Access release later this year.

Exoshock is a 1 to 4-player co-op sci-fi PvE shooter built for both VR and standard PC flat screens, featuring full cross-play. VR support includes SteamVR as well as Meta Quest 3 and 3S headsets.

The upcoming Open Beta introduces a new map called INS Ballista, additional weapons, cosmetic suits, and a character progression system. Players can run missions solo or with up to three teammates.

A free demo is available to download ahead of the beta start date. Downloading the demo gives access to the staging area, where players can run through the tutorial, use the shooting range, adjust loadouts, and modify character customization.
