AMVR is leading the charge with a brand-new lineup designed specifically for Valve’s upcoming device, and the star of the show is easily their magnetic prescription lens inserts.
For anyone who relies on glasses, putting on a headset usually means risking scratched optics, dealing with squished frames against your temples, or losing a chunk of your field of view just to make room. Valve did include a plastic glasses spacer in the leaked box contents, but AMVR is taking a much cleaner approach. Their solution uses a two-piece magnetic setup with a slim adapter ring that clips securely around the Steam Frame’s optical housing. From there, high-index prescription lenses snap right into place using strong magnets. This means you get crystal-clear vision instantly without wearing your daily frames, and you can pop them off in a split second if you are passing the headset over to a friend.
AMVR isn’t just dropping basic glass into these mounts either. The inserts feature anti-glare and blue-light filtering to keep eye strain at bay during long gaming sessions, and they are using ultra-slim resin profiles so the glass won’t touch your eyelashes or fog up the moment things get intense.
